PAUL LAM

Paul Lam has lived in Hawaiʻi for over 25 years and is a seasoned international businessman and entrepreneur, with more than four decades of experience founding and leading successful niche tourism and special events companies. He has also been an active investor in commercial and residential real estate across Hawaiʻi, Ohio, and the western United States.

Driven by a strong commitment to addressing Hawaiʻi’s housing crisis, Paul is scaling up affordable housing development through Lam Capital LLC and Lam Development LLC. His companies are currently advancing 13 Bill 7 projects in the Honolulu metro area, totaling approximately 614 units, with a goal of reaching 1,000 units in the urban core—positioning Paul as one of the most active Bill 7 developers in Honolulu.

Paul has assembled a team of professionals dedicated to Bill 7 projects, including:

  • An attorney with over 25 years of experience in a variety real estate finance transactions including real estate purchases, loan transactions, and real estate development representing lenders, borrowers, developers, and investor syndicates;
  • A construction manager with over 30 years of experience who serves on the Building Board of Appeals for the City and County of Honolulu and the Building Industry Association of Hawaii Codes Committee, and has also held leadership positions within the Building Industry Association of Hawaii and the National Association of Home Builders;
  • Architects and engineers with deep roots in Hawaii and decades of experience in working with the Department of Planning and Permitting;
  • Real estate agents specializing in Bill 7 parcels; and
  • A general contractor that has constructed commercial, residential and industrial buildings, including major highrises.

The creation of affordable housing is a generational challenge for Hawaii and our team has a long-term vision to be part of the solution.

Lam Capital LLC specializes in new construction of multifamily properties on the island of Oahu.
