PAUL LAM

Paul Lam has lived in Hawaii for over 23 years and is an international businessman and entrepreneur, founding and serving as the Chairman of the Board of many successful niche tourism and special events companies for over four decades. He has been an active investor in commercial and residential real estate holdings in Hawaii, Ohio and the western U.S for four decades.

Paul is passionate about providing much needed affordable housing for his community and is increasing the scale of development through Lam Capital LLC and Lam Development LLC. The companies are actively developing 11 Bill 7 projects in the Honolulu metro area totaling approximately 400 units, with more to come, which makes Paul one of Honolulu’s largest Bill 7 developers.

Paul has assembled a team of professionals dedicated to Bill 7 projects, including:

  • An attorney with over 25 years of experience in a variety real estate finance transactions including real estate purchases, loan transactions, and real estate development representing lenders, borrowers, developers, and investor syndicates;
  • A construction manager with over 30 years of experience who serves on the Building Board of Appeals for the City and County of Honolulu and the Building Industry Association of Hawaii Codes Committee, and has also held leadership positions within the Building Industry Association of Hawaii and the National Association of Home Builders;
  • Architects and engineers with deep roots in Hawaii and decades of experience in working with the Department of Planning and Permitting;
  • Real estate agents specializing in Bill 7 parcels; and
  • A general contractor that has constructed commercial, residential and industrial buildings, including major highrises.

The creation of affordable housing is a generational challenge for Hawaii and our team has a long-term vision to be part of the solution.

Lam Capital LLC specializes in new construction of multifamily properties on the island of Oahu. We specifically target properties compliant with Honolulu’s affordable housing legislation known as “Bill 7.” At Lam Capital LLC, we are passionate about Hawaii and its geographic and logistical importance on the world’s economic stage.
